Are You A Grouch or a Fun Home Based Business Owner?
The daily responsibilities of running your home business take their toll and leave you feeling tired and cheated of sharing in the fun. Quiet the opposite for your reason starting a home based business to create freedom and fun in your life. The good news is it doesn't have to be this way... Fun is mandatory to your success, so let's get you back in the groove.
Isn't it amazing when things seem off base and a little out of whack, a series of events or circumstances arise that shines a big bright light on the situation?
Sooner or later the problem at hand has a solution at hand, whether it's your way or another way that is somewhat better.
If you are educating people, this is often more so. When providing lessons to my clients, I am many times covering issues that I need to personally focus on in my business, which really helps in solving the slight hiccups we face along the way.
In recent weeks, I have allowed myself to become consumed by business activities while fitness, family and fun have taken a back seat.
It's perfectly normal, as putting in those extra yards has really paid off and things are back to normal around the house. So if you ever get caught in such a situation, feel free to create that momentum, and then take a step back so you may experience the fun that you have also created for your life.
If you continue to push yourself to the limit every single hour of every single day, the fuel supply will quickly run dry, and you may not make it to your intended destination.
Getting back to the point I was making on those "solutions" that just arise from seemingly nowhere... I was asked to write an article on how to run a home business whilst still balancing your family and social life.
Second, I paid an impromptu visit to the library and picked up Jay Conrad Levinson's, The Way of The Guerilla, an excellent expose on the motivations of today's entrepreneur and the critical importance of balance, family, health and relationships.
To be honest, I had no idea of the subject matter until I started reading it, and it turned out to be something very relevant to my life at that point in time.
And last but not least, an educational session with a client of mine helped structure a better business model for their organization that rewarded people for having fun, whilst getting results. Really a win/win/win situation in this case.
Focusing on the schematics of a project is often the easy part. It's giving our self top priority throughout the process that poses the biggest challenge.
Looking after "self" is much more important than looking after "project"... this applies to you too, and this will guarantee that you will have much more fun with your home business.
As you get to work each day, remember these wise words:
"Your body and your mind are the vehicles that will allow you to carry out your dream. Give them top priority because without them, everything else is dust."
I have these very words posted on my wall to remind me of the importance every single day. I encourage you to do the same, so you too may have a well balanced life... with plenty of time AND financial freedom.
